ALIENAÇÃO PARENTAL DE FILHOS DE HANSENIANOS, FORÇADA POR POLÍTICAS GOVERNAMENTAIS NO BRASIL NO PERÍODO DE 1943 A 1986

Abstract

The main concern of this article is to bring a reflection on parental alienation of children of
leprosy, forced by government policies in Brazil in the period from 1943 to 1986. The problem
of this investigation is premised on knowing: how this process of forced parental alienation
occurs in the country? The methodology used in this work was based on excavating and
pinching official documents, as well as bibliographic ones that deal with the theme of
preventive care in Brazil during the period studied. The mass of documents found in this study
point in the direction that these spaces for the hospitalization of the children of leprosy patients
were created under the aegis of a hygienist policy, based on the tripod: leprosarium,
dispensary and preventive clinic. The theoretical framework adopted was the approaches of
Michel Foucault, which led to an intellectual exercise of explanation of the concepts contained
in the cycle of construction of knowledge and power, exposed in his works. The results
obtained in this work demonstrate that an institution for the internment of healthy children,
daughters of leprosy patients, in the period from 1943 to 1986, known as a preventorium, was
constituted in a prophylactic environment of isolation, but above all in an efficient space of
parental alienation forced by the government public policies in Brazil.
