“Vassalage” in the modern labor world: between the worker’s submission and the protection of his/her personality

Abstract

This brief essay intends to question about the limits of the employer’s director’s power when confronted with the personality rights of the employee. The intention is not to bring solutions to the conflict presented but to launch questions about the legal protection of this rights in Brazil aiming to reflect about the submission of the modern employee in the global economy context. To reach this goal the discussion approaches the analysis of personality rights and its applicability in the labor relations, it examines the protection of these rights in Brazil and concludes by means of a reflection about the implications of the legal protection of the personality in face of globalization.
